    What to include

    • Client name and project title

    • Hours or a fixed fee per deliverable
    • Number of revision rounds included
    • Usage rights or licensing, if you charge for them
    • Printing or stock costs passed on to the client

    Tips

    • List the file types delivered.
    • Bill extra revision rounds as separate lines.
    • Reference the signed scope or proposal.

    Questions

Can I charge for usage rights?

Yes. If the client pays for limited rights, such as a single use or a time period, say it clearly on the invoice or contract.

When do I invoice a design project?

Many designers invoice half up front and half on delivery of final files. Hold final files until the balance is paid if your contract says so.
