    • Third party costs such as domain, hosting or stock images
    • Deposit received and balance due
    • Late payment terms

    Tips

    • List hosting or domain fees as reimbursable lines.
    • Say what revisions are included.

    Questions

    Should I take a deposit?

Many designers take 30 to 50 percent up front. Show it on the first invoice and mention it on later ones so the remaining balance is clear.

    How do I bill maintenance?

Use a recurring monthly line, such as Site maintenance and updates, and invoice on the same day each month.
